How FireTracker Works:
For years horse owners and livestock farmers have had a nagging fear that has never been addressed. It is the fear of a barn fire not being detected until it is far too late.
Traditional smoke detectors don't let occupants in the house
know when fire is detected in the barn.
They are only good when you are outside, or in the barn itself.
Exterior sirens improved that situation only slightly, by extending the noise generated from an alarm to the yard.
Horse and livestock owners want to be awakened from a deep sleep at the first sign of trouble. If an alarm goes off in the barn, they want to know about it in the house immediately.
The only way to do that so far has been to have a separate phone line in the barn connected to a fire alarm panel that calls out on alarm.
Obviously there is considerable expense involved in this: A dedicated phone line. An expensive alarm panel. Installation by a licensed fire alarm installer.
All of these things work to drive the cost up considerably. You could also go to the trouble of hardwiring an alarm from the barn into a panel in the house. The cost and mess in this are very obvious as well.
So we asked the questions -
Is there was a way to let you know in the house in the middle of the night that smoke has been detected in the barn?
Could we do that without running new cable underground and incurring prohibitive construction costs?
What if the signal could be sent to both a siren, and the house, and a telephone dialer?
Could this all be done for a few hundred dollars and a few hours of installation?
That's what we were asking when we came up with the idea for FireTracker.
The FireTracker system uses the existing power system on the property to send a signal from the barn to the house. When smoke is detected, a signal is sent to the Remote Receiver which sounds a Siren and Flashes a light.
The Remote Receiver and Siren can be placed wherever best works for your situation. Additional Remote Receivers can be added to expand your warning areas.
It is not wireless, and yet it doesn't need new wiring to be installed.
It is CSA, ULC and UL approved for use in North America.
It is easy to install. It is inexpensive.
We believe that it answers the nagging fear in the minds of animal owners should their barn catch fire.
